About me
ANDRÉS HERRERA, MA, LCPC
I’m a bilingual therapist, originally from Colombia, and moved to the U.S. in my late teens. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College.
With over 17 years of experience as a licensed therapist, I’ve worked in a variety of mental health settings—including community health centers, inpatient facilities, and group therapy practices. My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and client-centered.
As a bilingual Latino therapist (Spanish/English), I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
My expertise includes helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, insecurities, conflict resolution, and relationship issues. Additionally, coming from a Christian background, I am comfortable incorporating your spirituality into our sessions, whether it is to process your beliefs, deal with religious trauma, or crises of faith.
Outside of therapy, I like to grab my camera and go for nature walks, or walks around the city to try to capture some good shots. You might also see me riding my bike down the Lake Shore path, trying to get ready for the Chicago Triathlon!
